YOUR GO-TO SOURCE FOR WHAT TO READ & WATCH

As a reader and avid film watcher, I'm often asking myself, "Is this story going to be worth the time it takes to read or watch it?"  Unfortunately, it is often too hard to tell until I actually finish the text or film.  Whenever I've tried to look up reviews prior to reading or viewing, I've only been able to find opinions that differ too widely from my own, which renders these critiques useless to my purposes.  Although I respect critics such as Roger Ebert, their very narrow and biased view of film and text value limits others' ability to use their writing as a proper resource and guide.  Even though I can't promise to remain entirely objective (criticism is, by nature, subjective), I hope that my reviews at least provide another source of information for review seekers.  If I can present my thoughts and perceptions in a way that appeals to at least a few others, then I think that I've done my job as a reviewer.
